Let’s Movie Party!
Have you ever thought of watching a movie with your favorite KOL at home, just like a fan meeting? Apart from having real-time interaction with KOL, you can find friends who like you online. Also, by sharing your interests and taste, you can get your community and make the first step to becoming a KOL. MOVIE PARTY ON HAMI gives everyone a chance to hold their movie party and got a profit. It makes watching the movie at home like chatting with friends that differ from watching in the theater.​

Achievement​

The concept was proposed on August 31, 2017.
In the end, the case was not adopted for reasons of feasibility and funding.
​
However, Facebook made a similar function called Watch Party in July 2018; Netflix made a plugin, Netflix Party, for watching together in March 2022. There’s the possibility for improving the development of an Online Video Platform.

An Entire Online Theater to You & KOL
We will invite well-known KOL and Youtuber for different movie themes monthly, enjoying online theater with limits on the number of people. Fans can discuss with KOL in the same studio, and see others’ text messages in the live chat room (you can close it whenever you want.) It's like a one-on-one movie date with your favorite KOL, experiencing a new movie journey.

Recommend what to watch for the weekend through the list of your similar users by the system, and you can also explore and follow people who share similar tastes or meet different netizens in the theater. Make your homepage personal, choosing the video without thinking.

Origin

90% of subscribers had watched the pirated video. We are not the content provider, lacking the exclusive video to make profits. Therefore, we believe that gathering KOL and hobbyists on HamiVideo with the power of authorized video and community could create another sort of uniqueness, increase users' stickiness, generate a new type of viewing habits, and change to increase the revenue by subscribers and limited tickets.

Gathering 1 Customer, 2 KOL, 3 Supplier to HamiVideo. Watching the movie
with KOL as a crowd-puller, users could find netizens who suit their tastes and gradually form a Film Community, then build a unique culture in which users buy online tickets, viewing with KOL and friends.

Profit Model​

The profit of the authorized video is split between the OTT and Content Provider now. However, the essence of “watching movies together” or “recommendations from the echo chamber” is to promote the content by people, so the more powerful

the influencer is, the more subscribers will watch it. Therefore, it’s necessary to change the profit-splitting system among OTT, KOL, and Content Provider (see the chart below as the mode of Watching Together.) Except for rebuilding the profit- splitting system, we have to establish the system of self-media cultivating and the fee of Watching Together mode

Expected Result

Business Model Innovation
Not same as a unidirectional consumption pattern of authorized video before, it becomes to the way of online streaming that users can text with others, and build a new profit-splitting system (among Content Providers, KOL, and OTT.)


The System of Self-media Cultivating
Anyone with charisma and professional knowledge such as commentator and film critic has a chance to stand on the stage of HamiVideo, gather subscribers, and become an influencer on the platform.

​Cultivate the Culture of User Charge
Resist the unhealthy trend of video piracy, encourage users to support the self-media they preferred. When users pay for the online movie is also pay for the online copyright.

Users Become the Curator
The curator of OTT changed to the user. Online Video Service not only for selling the video.



The Obstacle of the future

The sales model of online copyrights is B2C now, while live streaming is sort of Multiple-View-Sync with the mode of B2C2C. There are no cases for reference. We discussed the concept with our Content Providers, Vie Vision Pictures, in July of this year and come to a preliminary agreement that we could follow HamiVideo's previous license agreement. If the concept is commercialized later, it has to be decided whether should have a new agreement with Content Provider.​
